holiday season
The Salvation Army bell ringers have been in action lately, so I guess the holiday season is really here. Also, it is after Thanksgiving now. Pete and I had our first ever Thanksgiving at home in our house. It was really nice and very relaxing. All the food turned out great and Pete was a ton of help. Fredo also helped out when any food fell on the floor. We all did our part.
It's so funny to think that next Thanksgiving Peter and I will be married. We also put up our first Christmas tree together. We mostly have lights and red bulbs on it right now, because all my ornaments are in Montana. I did give Pete a Christmas ornament last year. It's a silver bike with a wreath on the handlebars. When we opened the box, the note I wrote him last year fell out. It said, "This is for our tree next year in our new house." :) A lot has happened in a year.
I'm totally done with all my Christmas shopping, and I'm so glad to be finished. I seriously dislike shopping in December. So now Pete and I can spend our time at home drinking hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps instead of rushing around with a million other people. So cozy.

Did you get a real tree this year?!

Nope. We have a 6.5 foot artificial Lucas Fir courtesy of Target. I was sad at first, but once I realized that real trees here are farm grown and bear little resemblance to my Charlie Brown douglas firs cut on top of Lolo Pass with a $3 Forest Service tag, I was okay with it :)

Yeah most of the trees on the tree farms are "groomed" to have that "road cone" look but sometimes you can find a good one.
