From the Land of Sky Blue Waters

No, this isn't a blog about Hamms Beer. It's a blog about me, Anne. I'm a Montana girl who now calls Minnesota home. I'm missing the mountains and my family but loving the lakes and Peter. I wanted a way for everyone to keep tabs on me. So voila mon blog.

holiday season

The Salvation Army bell ringers have been in action lately, so I guess the holiday season is really here. Also, it is after Thanksgiving now. Pete and I had our first ever Thanksgiving at home in our house. It was really nice and very relaxing. All the food turned out great and Pete was a ton of help. Fredo also helped out when any food fell on the floor. We all did our part.

It's so funny to think that next Thanksgiving Peter and I will be married. We also put up our first Christmas tree together. We mostly have lights and red bulbs on it right now, because all my ornaments are in Montana. I did give Pete a Christmas ornament last year. It's a silver bike with a wreath on the handlebars. When we opened the box, the note I wrote him last year fell out. It said, "This is for our tree next year in our new house." :) A lot has happened in a year.

I'm totally done with all my Christmas shopping, and I'm so glad to be finished. I seriously dislike shopping in December. So now Pete and I can spend our time at home drinking hot chocolate and peppermint schnapps instead of rushing around with a million other people. So cozy.

Handsome Boys

I took this picture with my iPhone on Sunday. We were up at Pete's Mom's painting ornaments. Pete had a good time getting Derek all riled up. He is one beefy three year old. I seriously cannot believe how much he has grown! It's fun being an aunt :)

Mario and my iPhone

It's been busy lately, but this is what I've been up to for fun. My Mom came to visit last weekend and we picked out my wedding dress. Thanks so much for coming Mom, as I said, I could not have done it without you. Also, having you here made it fun. After that it was busy with work and school all week.

Peter finally tore through my defenses and bought me an iPhone. I LOVE it. It is seriously the coolest thing ever. Thanks to Pete for supplying me with awesome technology and not taking no for an answer :)

The new Mario game is out for the Wii, and Pete and I have logged quite a few hours playing now. In fact, that was pretty much all we did Saturday. I had plans to do other things, but then I got out of bed in the morning and slipped and fell down the stairs. It hurt. No broken bones, but a few deep bruises that hurt whenever I moved yesterday. Perfect day for some video-game-age. :)

Today we spend up at Pete's mom's painting Christmas ornaments. We go every year and it's great fun. There is always a crazy amount of food, and it is great to see everyone before the holidays get really busy.

Very much looking forward to the three day work week and the long Thanksgiving weekend. This year Pete and I are having Thanksgiving just us at our house, and I think it will be relaxing and lovely :)

Fred's Window

Fred's Window

One of my favorite things about our house is the low window in the front. Fredo loves looking out the window and watching squirrels, rabbits, and people and dogs walking by. It's his favorite spot, and I'm so glad we got a house with a special window for our short little dog :)
